cafeGAINZ Tip of the Day - Thursday, April 10, 2007
...Probably going to do chest and biceps today, then I have a bathsquetbol game later tonight. I would do triceps instead of biceps, but I want to be able to shoot in my game and the pec/tri combination might take me off target. This is a big game......playoff implications all over it.
I'm going to envision my workout now, just like all of the greats do before they actually go in the gym and dominate.
First up, a bench monkey's life-force: BB bench press. For all the hate we spit about it, you gotta mix it in from time to time. Its time. I'll probably mix in some explosive push-ups to KTP (Keep the Pump) and, simultaneously, make a jackass out of myself. Its what I do third best.
Next up, incline DB press. Again, surprsingly I actually haven't done these in a while so I'll incorporate.
From there I'll "transition seemlessly" to DB flys on a Swiss ball. My mother used the phrase "transition seamlessly" earlier today when describing my juxtoposition of desk jobs. As noted earlier this week, my only employer right now is the all-mighty GAINZ. Seems like she doesn't take too kindly to the "seam" I'm currently occupying. On a more serious note, the flys incorporate the biceps a little, which is a good way to start warming them up for.......
Decline DB Curls w/ a clever twist at the end. Start with your arms arms downward with palms facing toward your sides. As you contract, twist the wrists and palms so that they are facing upward. Clever twist!
Incline Pec-Dec next. Standing BB Curls next. Single-arm Cable Curls on one leg (for balance) next. After all this I might shoot some hoops just to loosen up from the workout, or maybe even play a pick-up game or two. Then I'll go home smiling like a cheshire cat, eat something healthy, and mentally prepare for tonight's game. I'll also continue to occupy a seam.
