Dips should be a staple in any workout routine. I typically include them in Tri-force workouts, making sure to stay back on my palms to emphasize the triceps. If you include them on chest days, lean forward a little to help recruit more of the pecs. Beginners should use the weight-assisted dip machine to learn the proper form. As you become stronger, add weight with a weight belt or hold a DB between your feet. This is a magnificent exercise for both genders of the species!
